Well folks, it's that time of year again where we supposed to slow down a little and take time to unwind. However, that seems quite the contrary. This is usually the time of year where people are stressed beyond the norm as we try to hustle up that extra cash for gifts that somebody somewhere (big businesses) said we HAVE to buy for people or else feel shame.
Why and how did it come to this? Has it been this way all the time and I just realized it, or are things really getting ridiculous? Either way, this year is a time for us to reflect on those we've lost, and grow renewed appreciation for the ones who are still around. The years just seem to blow by the older we get and we begin to realize that the times we thought were bad in the past, would turn out to be some of the best times we were ever gonna have.
This year has still not brought us Free TV but it did bring us alot of political upheaval as people open their eyes to just what is happening around them. Has business as usual changed so dramatically, or has modern technology simply brought everyone's "business" right to our doorstep? Whatever the case, we now have massive protests organized within hours rather than days and people's emotional rants broadcast LIVE via twitter instantaneously before we even get a chance to reconsider our statements. Society is reaching a tipping point and there are no rails to hold onto. All we can do is hope we land on something, or someone to cushion the fall.
2012 promises to be another wild ride as out planet drifts into the center of the Milky Way and many wonder if ancient prophecies regarding our era will come true. Perhaps we will be a part of history that has been talked about for thousands of years, or perhaps the sun will continue to rise and it will be - just another day. Whatever happens, keep your head up and continue to go that small extra step that makes a difference in someone's life. You never know what your purpose is here and it could be that small seemingly insignificant gesture that makes a huge difference to someone whom you never thought you've made a lasting impression on, or someone who you came across briefly but managed to change their perception of the moment that they will remember and pass on.
Most of all, stay true to yourselves and don't let anyone take the wind out of your sails!
